I think the finger tip rule is still way to short. sitting in a chair, a small gust of wind, running, etc and you got some underwear showing. It's gross. I wear skirts that go about 6 inches past my knees (parents requirements) but if i went shorter, I'd keep it at the knee. Especially if you already have long legs, that's a lot of leg sticking out there!!! @ Rose, even though everyone else is doing it, it doesn't mean its right. It's hard to be different, I dress different than my friends, but sometimes doing what is right is hard. I don't think guys get 'desensitized' if they did, why would they still be attracted to girls? If a guy looks at porn all the time, why does he keep looking wouldn't he be desensitized?? no. God created guys to be attracted to women and until we're all dead that's the way it will be. I was talking to a friend, and she was saying she heard in nudist colonies men struggle less with looking at women, (gross) how a few clothes is more attractive than none. (this is feeling awkward ) BUT how it applies here, girls wearing short skirts or shorts and skimpy tops, guys are really going to find that tempting. |

OK, Just to emphasize, guys do get desensitized to women, we are still attracted to women because we're not gay. I don't think you understand how guys look at porn, if we weren't desensitized we would be looking at Victorias Secret all our lives, but no, that's how a lot of guys start out but then move onto full nudity soft-core, and then to hard-core, it's not enough, I once watched an interview where Dr James Dobson, he was interviewing a guy on death-row, I won't say why because it could be considered "sexually-graphic or disrespectful conversation" as at the top of your screen, but the end result was that somebodies baby girl (about eight I think) was raped and murdered, in the interview the guy being interviewed said that it started out when he started looking at porn, and he was eventually viewing violent porn, and when he was drunk he started to feel the need to act out what he had been viewing, at each stage he became desensitized and needed more, most guys don't get to this level of desensitization but we all become desensitized to what we do as habit. Your six inches is much to short in other cultural situations. I mean you're showing your ankle!! (unless your calf is only 6 inches) you naughty girl. lol And as far as full nudity goes, mystery is a very important part of a girls sexual appeal. But unless a guy makes a commitment to viewing girls in a non-sexual way, he will always find something to turn him on. |

yeah firstly, i dont think any girl who has respect for herself is gonna be bending over, or wearing a short skirt on a windy day haha. only girls desperate for attention do that. I'm sick of seeing girls going to a party at night in skimpy clothes and then complaining that its cold... I'm like "PUT CLOTHES ON" haha. ahem. oh and any girl who needs to bend over.... there are modest ways to do it, like bending your knees, and holding your hand in front of your chest. red lips are for getting noticed... as are red dresses (there's nothing wrong with either, I wear red alot, but only red lipstick on stage...) it's got to do with the marylin munroe thing.... |

at the desensitized thing... guys watching porn, if they're hardcore into it... they do get desensitised. they get so bad that they actually can't be with a real girl anymore... I read a study about it for an assignment a while back. I also tend to wear shorts under any skirt and or dress... for myself, i only wear floor length stuff for formal as occasions, normal day wear, I tend to go knee length at the longest... idk, I just feel weird in anything longer... maybe it's cuz I'm a dancer, idk haha. basically my view is, we're to be in the world but not "OF" the world. so if i'm dressed like an armish (is that spelt right?) girl, how am i really gonna get "worldly as" girls interested in my way of life? like i'm not the biggest fan of christian death metal music, but i'm glad it's around, cuz then metal head can have a positive alternative to listen to. |

I agree that, as Christians and belonging to Christ, we are not of this world, but rather in it for a short time. With that said, I agree with Clare that just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean it's right. I see a lot of people today just 'following the crowd' going with what is 'normal'. Since we don't belong to this world, I personally think we don't need to go along with what everybody else does. Besides, it's fun going against the norm if you ask me |

| hehe yeah, just to straighten out what i meant, I wasn't meaning we must be like the world, and being different is awesome, but if we're against everything, it rules out a whole stack of people that could be reached... just a thought. |

Wow I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's answers It really highlights how everyone is different. As a girl, here are my answers to some of the guys' questions: Does it bother you if guys act tough all the time? Um, It's annoying. I don't mind if it's only some of the time, or if it's just the guy's personality (although that would still be annoying!) But if he was obviously trying to act tough - nope, I wouldn't be impressed at all. If it's a joke or he's pretending-on-purpose it can be funny, but otherwise I don't go for it. Do you like long of short hair on guys? I don't like it to be very long...if it is cut like a girls'hair and longer than his ears, it just looks wrong. But very short is also irritating...unless he has a good reason for having it super-short it's odd. But overall, I don't care about his hair that much as long as it's clean. Dirty/greasy is disgusting and it makes me want to stick his head under a tap and scrub it! What do you prefer a guy to dress like? As long as it's not those idiotic pants that hang to the ground...or too smart all the time...or too sloppy all the time....I don't care. As long as he looks comfortable and isn't fussy about what he wears, AND once again his clothes must be CLEAN (It's fine if he gets dirty, but wearing the same clothes again and again unless you're camping or something....it's just gross) Text or Call? I am a writer so I tend to email/ message people. Calling is fine but not always practical...and can be awkward. I find phone calls a little too personal, unless it's for a purpose...calling just to chat is silly unless I was maybe dating the guy...that might be different. Do you like super buff guys, or don't care? As long as he is stronger than me, I don't care. Muscles aren't my thing unless they're super athletic or are naturally built that way, guys who show off their muscles....well, if that's all they do then I tend to ignore them. Then again, if they look like walking skeletons then I get worried about their health! lol What would be your perfect first date? Ummm I wouldn't mind as long as I was with someone I loved . I doubt I'd notice the details. 7. What characteristics do you look for in your future husband? Oh gosh, you want my list? I have one. A long one. So whenever I start liking a guy I look at it and if he falls short of too many on my list, I then no longer seriously 'like' him. It's my way of avoiding crushes Although if I came accross someone who had all of them...I'd probably be in trouble! Here's the list: Godly Kind Funny Respectful Caring Strong Joyful Loving Humble Intelligent Patient Faithful Special (to me) Clever Trustworthy Confident Enthusiastic Wise Honourable Honest Content Healthy Happy Motivated Adventuresome Gentlemanly Understanding Considerate Respected Compassionate And a little Romantic 8. What is up with your makeup? Do you really need that much? I I don't wear make-up. Aside from lipgloss, which I wear purely cause it makes me feel happy The only time I've ever seriously worn make-up has been at ballet concerts and it irritated me so much! I also don't get why girls wear so much...none of my friends wear it, only every once in a while on special occasions when they want to dress up...I suppose I'll get there one day. Do you prefer an athelete or an nerd? If he's athletic, he mustn't be critical of nerdy things, If the guy's a nerd, he shouldn't be completely uninterested in all things sporty. I like a guy who reads, because I read a lot and then we can discuss books and authors and other bookish things...much as I enjoy beating my guy friends, I prefer if they can outrun me...I'm not all that fast and If I can beat them, then it's a bit lame. Millitary. Yes or no? Well it's his choice...if that's what he wants to do, I'll try be supportive, but unless that was part of God's plan for me... I'd prefer not. It would be too painful every time he had to leave. Does it impress you if a guy can sing and is musical, or does it seem cliche and show-offy? I don't mind at all! if a guy is musical it's awesome...then again, if he's not, that's just who he is and I'm not gonna like him any less for it. I think it's great when a guy isn't scared to sing, and if he can sing on-key, all the better! Although if he has a good voice and is just singing to show it off then I'm not impressed. Why is it that every mirror you pass, you have to check how you look and change something? Don't know about other girls' reasons but I like to check that what I'm wearing hasn't slipped....that it's still modest. My hair is really long and it's complicated to tie it up and keep it there, so sometimes I tighten my ponytail. But otherwise, I don't look at myself in every mirror I pass, actually. I generally 'check how I look and change something' in the bathroom, not in front of everyone in every mirror I pass |

My answers! (BTW, guys, I think it's totally awesome that you're asking questions! It makes us girls feel like we're not so clueless. ) 1. Does it bother you if guys act tough all the time? No, not really. I like it when guys act tough and like they can handle the world, but it gets over-the-top when they refuse to admit they can’t conquer the world. The key here, boys, is be tough but don’t get cocky. You’re way more attractive when you’ve got that quiet, humble strength! 2. Do you like long of short hair on guys? Short! 3. What do you prefer a guy to dress like? I like a guy who doesn’t look like he obsesses over his appearance. NO skinny jeans. Just a tshirt, an old pair of jeans and maybe a baseball cap is pretty cute! 4. Text or Call? Call. And, even better, face-to-face talking! 5. Do you like super buff guys, or don't care? If he’s a Godly guy, cares about his purity, is sweet and respectful, it doesn’t matter! 6. What would be your perfect first date? Getting taken out to icecream, maybe going to a bookstore and then just hanging out at a park or something. Guys, it doesn’t matter WHERE you take us, so long as we’re with you! You’re what makes it special, not the fancy restaurant. 7. What characteristics do you look for in your future husband? Complete surrender to Christ, motivation to work hard and support a family, tenderness and a loving attitude, selflessness, good with kids, respectful with my family and friends and a heart that I KNOW is going to remain faithful! 8. What is up with your makeup? Do you really need that much? Some girls really pile on the makeup, but we do it without realizing it’s too much! But honestly a lot of us DO try to go for a more neutral look! It’s a fine line and a girl can get sucked into the lie that make-up makes her more attractive to the opposite sex. 9. Do you prefer an athlete or a nerd? I would prefer an athlete. I love going to basketball and football games and for girls it’s amazing when you can brag on your guy’s skills in sports. 10. Millitary. Yes or no? Wow. For me this is tough because I want my husband (or boyfriend) to be safe. Being in the military is an admirable thing, and I have a lot of respect for the men who step up to the plate and join, but at the same time I would never want the man I’m in love with to be in harm’s way. This is something we’d really need to pray about! [But if it was that important to him, and he felt like that’s where God was calling him--I’d say yes.] |

| For me i dont care what the girl wears as long as she's comfortable. Perfume i can barely smell so lol. I have to be quick so ill say this if a girl dresses modestly and nicely I guy will respect her and look at more than the physical. allso if a guy likes a girl in yhe way i do then we notice the hair alot. We basically study them. If the girl is noce, modest, christain etc that's like a heart turn on for good guys like me. Dress nice, be nice, smell nice, well fall right for ya. Also don't do stupid stuff. Leave that to us guys. Were the insane ones. But we do it for you girls. For me its one in my class. So like I said. Dress nice not naughty. Trust me. Dress naughty and we get the wrong impression. |
